Will Novak Djokovic Break Jimmy Connors’ Trophy Record in Singles ATP Tournaments?
Novak Djokovic has broken many records throughout his career, as he has made history with 24 Grand Slam titles and 40 Masters. Also, he has finished eight seasons as the ATP world number one.
However, there is one record he has yet to break, which is Jimmy Connor’s record for the most ATP singles titles, as he racked up an incredible 109 throughout his career.
In 2023, the 37-year-old tennis star stated he plans to break Connor’s record before his retirement.

Novak Djokovic is Unlikely to Break the Record
BEO Betting odds indicate that Novak Djokovic is unlikely to break Jimmy Connors’ singles ATP tournaments record.
Despite his enviable tennis career, he recently sustained a muscle tear during his quarterfinal match against Carlos Alcarez at the Australian Open in January 2025, forcing him out of the event.
Also, he experienced a similar injury in 2023 during a title run, and he has since admitted that it felt more manageable two years ago.
It even resulted in Djokovic missing out on winning a major title in 2024, which was the first time it had happened since 2017.
Jim Courier, a former world number one, believes Djokovic may have lost motivation for the sport.
He recently said, “It was telling when Goran Ivanesevic left his team. After that, he seemed disinterested in some of the tournaments, and that is understandable when you have done everything there is to do.”
As Djokovic is heading toward the end of his career, he would need another ten ATP titles to match Jimmy Connors’ record and eleven to break it, which will be no easy feat, especially now he is injured.
Djokovic Could Win More Grand Slams
Despite many questioning if Djokovic’s heart is still in the sport, the skilled Serbian believes his tennis career isn’t over.
He remains focused on winning many Grand Slam titles, which could be to fulfill his dream of breaking Jimmy Connors’ record.
While many believe he might retire in 2025, Djokovic recently said, “I don’t know what the future brings. I’ll just, you know, try to kind of go with the flow to see how I feel in a given moment. I still plan to compete and play next season and let’s see how far I go.”
His recent injury may have thrown him out of the Australian Open, but he believes he might return to the event next year. He said, “If I’m fit, healthy, motivated, then I don’t see a reason why I wouldn’t come (next year). I want to keep going.”
As Djokovic remains committed to winning many titles and believes he has the skills and stamina to do so, he may prove critics wrong and break yet another record for ATP singles titles.
For now, he is likely focused on recovering from his injury and ensuring he is match-fit for upcoming Grand Slams.
Fortunately, Jimmy Connors has no problem with Djokovic vying to break his record. On the Advantage Connors podcast, he recently said, “I’ve had a good run. I don’t know what it is, the number, you know, 109 has stood. If somebody’s going to come up and beat that, God damn, good luck to him!”
If you believe Novack Djokovic will win exactly 3 Grand Slams in 2025, you could win $10,000 by betting $100 at 1xBet if it happens.
