Who is the Favorite to Win Eubank Jr. vs Benn?
Chris Eubank Jr. is the bookies’ favorite to win the fight against Conor Benn this April.
While Benn has been busy attempting to prove his innocence for his drug test result, Eubank Jr. has had more opportunities to prove himself in the ring.
For instance, he won the rematch against Liam Smith in the highly publicized bout. Also, he is a more natural middleweight than Conor Benn, with the latter moving up two weight divisions for the fight.
As a result, Eubank Jr. might prove hard to beat, as he has a history of fighting in the weight division and enjoying victory over many opponents.
Teofimo Lopez, the current super-lightweight champion, believes Eubank Jr. is most likely to walk away from the fight victorious this April.
He recently told Morson Sport, “If you want to talk that s**t then I’m gonna talk it back and I’m gonna say Chris Eubank. I think he is more seasoned.”
Is Conor Benn the Underdog?
Conor Benn hasn’t had much chance to fight a top-level boxer of late, meaning he is the underdog in the fight.
However, his fight against Eubank Jr. will allow him to showcase his skills and prove to the world he is back and ready for bigger fights in the future.
Benn has recently enjoyed victory in the ring, though, as he won his fight against Peter Dobson in Las Vegas in February 2024.
Also, it is important to note that Benn is undefeated, and he might be waiting for the right opponent to prove he is as good as his father, if not better.
Tony Bellew believes boxing fans shouldn’t underestimate Conor Benn in the ring.
When the three-time ABA heavyweight champion was asked if Eubank Jr. would win, Bellew commented, “Disagree. He is a big lad, but we need to see Conor back first in a normal fight and see how the years have affected him. He’s too quick, too explosive. I just think he beats him. I don’t know how it will go. Explosive, powerful, quick. Conor Benn is one of those, you’re probably going to have to knock him out. He’s going out on his shield.”
