A Network 10 Reveal
A Network 10 insider revealed the show is “very close” to locking in Raygun for I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
It’s believed they are more than happy to spend big money to secure the Olympian’s appearance on the show.
According to the insider, “Raygun is one name at the top of the list who bosses have been working on since she went viral. Initially, Raygun’s team declined, but now she’s realizing her window to make big money is quickly closing, and it’s unlikely she’ll ever get a six-figure sum to do a show ever again.”
A Perfect Campmate
Australians are likely eager to learn more about Raygun, whose real name is Rachael Gunn, and may want to hear her thoughts on her viral Olympic performance and her feelings on receiving a score of zero.
A different insider told New Idea, “The public will want to hear her story in the jungle. Love or loathe her, she has everyone talking. It’s these viral moments and water-cooler conversations that I’m a Celebrity will want to capitalize on, and they won’t want to miss out on a casting moment like this.”
Rejected the Rumors
Despite a Network 10 insider almost confirming Raygun’s appearance on I’m a Celebrity this year, the competitive breakdancer and academic has attempted to shut down the rumors.
The 37-year-old recently told The Fox’s Fifi, Fev, & Nick that she has no plans to appear on reality TV in the future.
She said, “There’s been some amazing memes that have come out, and I just don’t think reality TV is the space for me. So I’m going to focus on things where I can really bring joy and to try and encourage people to be creative.”
Also, when appearing on Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, she commented, “I mean, look, as someone that went viral from their performance at the Olympics, I think I’ve got a very memeable face! It’s very expressive, and I just feel like going on reality television is just not the right move.”
Despite rejecting the rumors, media outlets continue to predict that Raygun will appear on I’m a Celebrity alongside various famous faces, such as former MasterChef judge Melissa Leong, Hollywood actress Melissa Joan Hart, stand-up comic Celeste Barber, and Married at First Sight star Harrison Boon.
