Who Will Be the Next Person to Achieve EGOT?

If you’re unfamiliar with the term EGOT, it refers to someone who has won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award.

Only 21 people in entertainment history have won each award, meaning the next winner will stand in acclaimed company.

EGOTs include Audrey Hepburn, Whoopi Goldberg, Andrew Lloyd Webber, John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Viola Davis, and Elton John, to name a few.

Many stars are an award away from achieving the status, which may cause you to wonder who the next winner will be. Keep reading to learn who could be the next person to achieve EGOT status.

1xBet’s Odds at 2.25 predict a 44.4% chance that Cynthia Erivo will be the next person to achieve EGOT ::: Discover the current Odds now HERE

Cynthia Erivo is the Strongest Contender

There is no question Cynthia Erivo has enjoyed an unforgettable 12 months, with many praising her performance as Elphaba in Wicked. However, the multi-talented star was on her way to EGOT status before the film’s release.

In 2016, Erivo accepted the Tony for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for The Color Purple. A year later, she won the Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album and the Emmy for Outstanding Musical Performance in a Daytime Variety Program.

The only thing standing in her way of EGOT status is an Oscar win. She has, however, received two nominations at the Academy Awards in the past. For example, she received 2019 nominations for Best Actress in Harriet and Best Original Song for the film’s soundtrack “Stand Up.”

As Erivo is tipped to receive a nomination for Best Actress for Wicked at the 2025 Oscars, she could be called onto the stage to accept the award this March, helping her achieve EGOT status.

Lin-Manuel Miranda Could Become an EGOT

Lin-Manuel Miranda has received many prestigious awards throughout his songwriting career. In 2008, he won the Tony for Best Musical and Best Original Score for In the Heights. Plus, he won the Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album in 2009.

The critically acclaimed musical Hamilton resulted in him accepting another three Tony Awards in 2016, as he picked up Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score.

What’s more, it resulted in him taking home two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Variety Special in 2021, which is in addition to the 2014 award he picked up for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics in 2014.

Hamilton helped Lin-Manuel Miranda receive additional Grammys, as he accepted Best Musical Theater Album at the prestigious ceremony in 2016. Also, he scooped another Grammy for Best Song Written for a Visual Medium for Moana’s soundtrack “How Far I’ll Go” in 2018.

Like Cynthia Erivo, he’s an Oscar away from EGOT status. He did, however, stand a good chance at the statue with Moana’s “How Far I’ll Go,” but Best Original Song went to acclaimed EGOTs Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

Also, he earned another Best Original Song nomination in 2022 for Encanto’s “Dos Oruguitas,” but Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell picked up the accolade for “No Time to Die.”

Don’t Overlook Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross

It would be foolish to disregard Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross as the next EGOTs. The Nine Inch Nails stars have enjoyed much success as composers and producers, collaborating on various film and TV scores and electronic music over the past 25 years.

For instance, they won Best Original Song at the Oscars for The Social Network in 2010 and scooped the accolade again in 2021 for the Soul soundtrack.

The duo has enjoyed success at the Grammys, too, winning Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo in 2013 and again for Soul in 2022.

Plus, they proved they’re just as talented in producing songs for TV as they won Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited Series or Movie for Watchmen’s “It’s Summer and We’re Running Out of Ice” in 2020. All they need is a Tony win to secure EGOT status.

Eminem is a Solid Outsider

Eminem is a Tony away from achieving EGOT status. The acclaimed rapper took one step closer to an EGOT when accepting the Emmy for Outstanding Variety Live in 2022 for his Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show.

He has won more Grammys than any other rapper, as he has taken home 15 awards throughout his career, including Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.

What’s more, he won the Oscar for Best Original Song in 2003 for the 8 Mile soundtrack “Lose Yourself.”

If an 8 Mile musical is ever released, he could secure a Tony and earn EGOT status.

If you believe Eminem will be the next person to achieve EGOT, you could win $3400 by betting $100 at 1xBet if it happens.
