Who is Most Likely to Win the Award?
Stray Kids is the current favorite to accept the award for Top Duo or Group at the Billboard Music Awards 2024.
The eight-member South Korean band has had a phenomenal year in music, as their EP Ate reached number one around the world, including the US Billboard 200, US World Albums, and South Korean Albums chart.
Its lead single, “Chk Chk,” hit the top spot on Billboard’s US World Digital Song Sales chart, too.
The popular band headed off on the Dominate World Tour in August 2024, bringing their much-loved music to their fans across the globe, visiting Asia, Australia, North America, Latin America, and Europe.
However, 2024 might be the year Coldplay finally receives the award. The British band has received four nominations over the years but has yet to win.
The group delighted fans internationally by releasing “Feels Like I’m Falling in Love” in June 2024, which served as the lead single for their tenth studio album Moon Music.
Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the album peaked at number one on the US Billboard 200 and US Top Rock & Alternative Albums charts.
Linkin Park could, however, make a triumphant return by winning the Top Duo or Group Award this December.
The group reformed in September 2024, with Emily Armstrong becoming the lead vocalist following the passing of Chester Bennington in July 2017. Also, Colin Brittain replaced Rob Bourdon, who chose to leave the band.
The band proved their reunion was a wise decision, as their 2024 single “The Emptiness Machine” was a commercial success, peaking at number one on US Rock Airplay and number three on US Hot Rock & Alternative Songs.
Also, From Zero, Linkin Park’s eighth studio album, reached the top spot in many international charts, including Billboard’s US Top Rock & Alternative Albums.
Yet, you cannot rule out Blink 182 for the award, either, as the deluxe version of their ninth studio album One More Time… enjoyed much success in the US and international charts.
For instance, it peaked at number one in Billboard’s US Digital Albums, US Top Rock Albums, US Alternative Albums, US Top Album Sales, US Rock & Metal Albums, and the US Billboard 200 charts.
Of course, Fuerza Regida might take home the Top Duo or Group award for the second year in a row.
The band got 2024 off to an excellent start, as their third EP Dolido Pero No Arrepentido was certified 5 x platinum in the United States and peaked at number three in the US Regional Mexican Albums chart.
Also, it featured the lead single “Tu Name,” which reached number two on Billboard’s US Hot Latin Songs chart.
What’s more, they dropped their eighth studio album Pero No Te Enamores in July 2024, earning the number two position on the US Top Latin Albums Chart.
