Who is Most Likely to Win the Award?
Chappell Roan is the current front-runner to win Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards 2025.
The 26-year-old singer-songwriter has climbed to the top of many international charts since the release of her debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, in 2023, which features the hit song “Good Luck, Babe.”
Her rise to fame is partially thanks to her short stint on Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts World Tour, as well as her unforgettable performances at the Governors Ball and Coachella.
It wouldn’t be the first Best New Artist award she’s received, either. She won the award in the same category at the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2024, beating many of the above nominees, such as Teddy Swims, Benson Boone, and Shaboozey.
As she has received five nominations at the 67th Grammy Awards, earning a place in the Big Four categories, she might prove tough to beat this year.
Of course, one artist who could stand up against her is Sabrina Carpenter. The 25-year-old singer has received nominations in the same five categories as Chappell Roan, suggesting they are the strongest contenders for Best New Artist in 2025.
Also, she has released hit after hit from her acclaimed album Short ‘n’ Sweet. For instance, “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 and Billboard Global 200.
Also, the popular track “Taste” reached number two in the US and number one in the UK.
Shaboozey could, however, scoop the award away from Roan and Carpenter at the upcoming ceremony.
Despite entering the charts with his song “Start a Riot” in 2018, he gained international fame throughout 2024 after he collaborated with Beyonce on two songs on her first country album, Cowboy Carter.
Since then, he has released “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” which reached the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100. Also, his 2024 album Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going peaked at number five on the US Billboard 200 and reached number two on the US Top Country Albums.
Of course, the Grammy Awards is known for surprising winners, meaning any of the nominees could take home the sought-after award.
