Who Are the Female Artist of the Year Nominees?
Five fantastic country music stars have earned a nomination for Female Artist of the Year at the 2024 CMA Awards.
The nominees are:
- Kacey Musgraves
- Kelsea Ballerini
- Megan Moroney
- Lainey Wilson
- Ashley McBryde
Who is Most Likely to Win the Award?
Lainey Wilson is the current favorite to win Female Artist of the Year at the CMAs 2024. Lainey has never lost out on the award when nominated, and it will be her third consecutive win if she scoops the title on November 20.
Not to mention, she will enter an elite country music club, as she will be the seventh woman in the award show’s history to achieve three or more wins.
Also, Wilson has had another great year in country music, as she released her fifth studio album, Whirlwind, in August 2024 and lent her vocals to Keith Urban’s hit song “Go Home W U.”
One artist who could stand in Wilson’s way is Kacey Musgraves, as she won the award for Female Artist of the Year in 2019.
The 36-year-old singer-songwriter has had a phenomenal year, too, as she released the commercially successful Deeper Well, her sixth studio album, in March 2024 and embarked on the sell-out Deeper Well World Tour.
Ashley McBryde’s fourth studio album, The Devil I Know, has made her a strong contender for the title of Female Artist of the Year.
It is a follow-up of the 2022 album Lindeville and was praised by music critics for its subject matter. However, she might lack the popularity of Lainey Wilson and Kacey Musgraves to take home the award in 2024.
Kelsea Ballerini thrilled fans by releasing her new album Patterns this year, and it debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200.
However, despite proving popular with fans, the album received mixed reviews from critics, with some comparing it to Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department or Kacey Musgraves’ Star-Crossed.
Less likely to win is Megan Moroney. She is one of the least experienced country singers in the category, releasing her second album, Am I Okay?, in July 2024. However, like any of the above artists, you shouldn’t take her out of the running, as the quality of her songs could help her walk away with the award in 2024.
