What Will the Menendez Brothers Do If Released?
What Will the Menendez Brothers Do If Released?
In 1989, Lyle and Erik Menendez followed through on their plan to murder their parents, Jose and Kitty, in their Beverly Hills home.
While the whole world was in shock following the brothers’ arrest, the televised trial captivated the nation, and it was during their second trial that they were sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
However, calls to free the brothers have gained momentum following the release of The Menendez Brothers documentary film on Netflix, as many believe they acted in self-defense following years of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse.
As LA district attorney George Gascon recently recommended a resentencing, which could make them eligible for parole, people are speculating what the Menendez brothers will do if released.

Will the Menendez Brothers Get Married?
It might be surprising to learn that Lyle and Erik Menendez are far from single. Erik said “I do” to Tammi Ruth Saccoman at Folsom State Prison in June 1999.
The relationship began when Tammi sent Erik a letter in 1993, as she felt sorry for him. At the time, she was married to Chuck Saccoman and had a teenage daughter from a previous relationship.
It was seemingly love at the first letter for Erik, who said, “I saw Tammi’s letter and I felt something. I received thousands of letters, but I set this one aside. I got a feeling. And I wrote her back.”
Lyle has been married not once but twice during his time in prison. He was married to model Anna Eriksson from 1996 to 2001, after the couple spent many years writing letters to each other.
However, she filed for divorce after discovering Lyle was secretly writing letters to other women throughout their marriage.
In 2003, Lyle married journalist Rebecca Sneed, who is still his wife to this day, and they reportedly knew each other for a decade before exchanging vows.
Of course, there is no guarantee that married life will live up to expectations if the brothers are released in the near future, meaning that wedding bells could be on the cards for one or both of them. However, they might choose to renew their vows with their other halves.
Could the Menendez Brothers Appear on Reality TV?
The Menendez brothers have a long road to freedom ahead, and they’re likely eager to re-enter society and to make up for lost time with their wives and supportive family members.
Appearing on a reality TV show could provide them with a much-needed cash injection after many years in prison, as it could help them start afresh in comfort.
Also, a reality competition show like Dancing with the Stars could help the public see the people behind the stories that have circulated for many decades.
However, they might prefer a quieter life away from the spotlight, which could help them move on from the abuse and violence that has dominated their lives for many years.
The Upcoming Resentencing Hearing
The Menendez brothers, their loved ones, and their army of supporters will need to wait patiently for the upcoming resentencing hearing.
The hearing date is currently scheduled for December 11, 2024, and the possibility of parole could be the best Christmas gift for Lyle and Erik.
The brothers aren’t likely holding onto much hope, as they have experienced various legal setbacks over the years. However, momentum is building following the Netflix documentary, meaning their freedom could soon be a reality.
