Jerry Seinfeld has enjoyed an enviable career as a stand-up comedian and actor since the 1980s.
After rising to fame for his observational comedy, the talented comic wrote and starred in the hit NBC sitcom Seinfeld, which ran for nine seasons from 1989 to 1998.
Once the show was over, he returned to stand-up comedy and launched his talk show, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, in 2012, which received five Primetime Emmy nominations.
While many might believe anything the comedian touches turns to gold, his good fortune might have run out following the release of the Netflix film Unfrosted.
As Seinfeld co-wrote, starred in, produced, and directed the movie, many believe he could walk away with more than one Golden Raspberry Award in 2025, which isn’t a good thing.

Worst Picture or Screenplay
As Jerry Seinfeld co-wrote the Unfrosted screenplay alongside Andy Robin, Spike Feresten, and Barry Marder, the quartet could receive an award for Worst Picture and/or Worst Screenplay at the Golden Raspberry Awards 2025.
Many movie critics have already called Seinfeld’s writing skills into question. For example, Craig Mathieson from The Age Australia wrote, “Jerry Seinfeld’s debut as a feature film writer and director is a mess. His breakfast pastry-themed 1960s farce plays like he shot every idea he had and made it into a 93-minute movie, regardless of whether they worked together or were particularly funny.”
The only saving grace is that the film faces tough competition for the awards from Madame Web, Argylle, Irish Wish, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, and Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey II, to name a few contenders.
Worst Actor
Unfrosted received mixed reviews from top movie critics, with the Sun-Times calling it “one of the decade’s worst movies.”
While the script fell flat for many people, Jerry Seinfeld’s acting skills didn’t fare much better. Some top movie critics believe his talented co-stars saved the flick, or they highlighted his shortcomings.
For instance, The Australian’s Stephen Romei wrote the following review, “That Seinfeld can’t act doesn’t matter. He’s surrounded by people who can. Hugh Grant is a highlight as Thurl Ravenscroft.”
With critics and audiences slamming his acting skills, there is every chance he could walk away with the Worst Actor award at the Golden Raspberry Awards 2025.
If he does, he will stand alongside other past recipients, such as Sylvester Stallone, Adam Sandler, Eddie Murphy, and Ben Affleck, to name a few.
Worst Director
Jerry Seinfeld’s fingerprints are all over Unfrosted, as he wrote, directed, produced, and starred in the Netflix movie.

Melissa McCarthy is known for starring in many hit comedy movies, such as Bridesmaids, St. Vincent, and Spy.
However, she may have made the wrong move when she agreed to team up with Jerry Seinfeld in Unfrosted.
While her pay cheque might have helped cushion the blow of bad reviews, she might be less than impressed to earn the award for Worst Screen Combo alongside Jerry Seinfeld at the Golden Raspberry Awards 2025.
