When Did Oasis Reform?

Rumors have been swirling for some time that the band members might get back together after 15 years apart, and the reports came true when Oasis announced a UK and Ireland tour on August 27, 2024.

The band is expected to perform in various cities, including Cardiff, London, Edinburgh, Dublin, and, of course, their hometown of Manchester.

The four band members will take to the stage in the summer of 2025, marking the group’s comeback since the abrupt breakup in 2009 when Noel Gallagher left Oasis.

Why Are Oasis Back Together?

Many factors have likely caused Oasis to reform. As Liam and Noel are brothers, they may have decided to put aside their differences, and growing older and changing may have played a part in their decision.

Liam reportedly told Rolling Stone Music Now in 2017, “Before we get back together – if we ever get back together – we’d have to become brothers and friends again. I imagine once that happens, and we start hanging out or whatever, we’re mates and we’re talking to each other on a nice, respectful level, we could probably go, F**k it. We’ll take the f*****g band out for a spin and go on tour.”

In addition to familial ties and letting go of old wounds, its members understand a comeback tour will prove fruitful for the band and their fans.

The numbers speak for themselves, as it has been reported that Oasis could earn an incredible £400 million for their 2025 tour, and Noel and Liam could reportedly receive £50 million each.

Also, it is an ideal time for Oasis to reunite, as two of the group’s most popular albums will celebrate their 30th anniversaries in 2024 and 2025: Definitely Maybe (1994) and (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? (1995).

The albums featured some of the band’s biggest hits, such as “Champagne Supernova,” “Rock ‘N’ Roll Star,” and “Cigarettes & Alcohol.”

Will Oasis Release a New Single?

According to various media outlets, Oasis may release a new single or an entire album, and Noel has seemingly hinted it could be true.

In 2023, Noel mentioned on the Rolling Stone Music podcast that he had written a “very heavily guitar-based stadium-rock album.”

The famous singer-songwriter stated he wrote 40 new songs during the COVID lockdown, with some appearing on High Flying Birds’ most recent album, Council Skies.

As some songs remain, Noel may have set some aside for Oasis, as they might be better suited to Liam’s vocals.

Also, in April 2024, a fan asked on X when Oasis would start recording a new album, causing Liam to reply, “November.”

Initially, many fans believed Liam was joking, but the announcement of a new tour may suggest the lead singer was serious, and the members may have scheduled time in the studio to record a new album this November.

For this reason, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise for Oasis to drop a new album or at least a new single in 2025, which might be before, during, or after their long-anticipated tour.

Until then, you’ll have to settle for many of Oasis’s biggest hits, such as “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” “Stand by Me,” and “Roll With It.”
