Has Oasis Headlined Glastonbury in the Past?

Oasis has headlined Glastonbury twice. The first time was in the band’s early days in 1994, in the same year as the release of Definitely Maybe.

However, their setlist featured many of their most popular songs, such as “Live Forever,” “Cigarettes & Alcohol,” and “Supersonic”.

The second time was in 2004 when they shared the stage with Muse and Sir Paul McCartney, with Liam Gallagher wearing his famous white parka jacket.

However, many believe their performance at the festival was the first sign that Oasis was close to splitting up.

Liam’s vocals were criticized by fans, with some calling it the “worst Oasis gig ever”.

The Oasis frontman later claimed using in-ear monitors tarnished their headline performance at the festival.

However, Liam didn’t allow the bad reviews to prevent his return, as he headlined the Pyramid Stage as a solo artist in 2019, sharing it with The Killers.

Three years later, Noel Gallegher headlined the iconic stage in 2022, performing various Oasis songs, such as “Wonderwall” and “Little By Little”. Also, he dedicated the other half of his set list to tracks he performs with his band The High Flying Birds.

Did Oasis Enjoy Performing at Glastonbury?

Despite facing much criticism from fans, Oasis often enjoyed their time at Glastonbury, but long to forget about their 2004 appearance.

When talking to Matt Everitt from BBC 6 Music, Liam Gallagher commented, “I have always enjoyed Glastonbury. There is only one that I didn’t, and that was when I wore the white jacket. I didn’t enjoy that because that was when I’d first started using ear monitors, and it spun me out for 15 years. I have only finally took them out so I’m kind of getting back to normal. I hated that gig, man.”

Are Oasis Likely to Headline Glastonbury in 2025?

Various media outlets have reported that Oasis is set to headline the Pyramid Stage in 2025.

Unfortunately, the rock band quickly shut down the rumors, confirming they would not perform at Glastonbury or other festivals next year.

According to a statement from the group, “The only way to see the band perform will be on their Oasis Live ’25 World Tour.”

The band members are likely focusing their time and effort on providing fans with their best show to date.

Also, Noel Gallagher has recently criticized the annual music festival. He told a UK newspaper, “Don’t get me wrong, I f*****g love Glastonbury. I think it is one of the most important things. In fact, it is probably the best f*****g thing about Britain apart from the Premier League… It is a bit woke now, that place, and a bit kind of preachy and a bit virtue-signaling. I don’t like it in music.”
