Is Principal Weems Alive in Wednesday?

Is Principal Weems Alive in Wednesday?

Season one of Wednesday was full of wonderful twists and turns, mysteries, and shocking deaths.

One of the biggest moments of the show was when Principal Weems (Gwendoline Christie) teamed up with Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) to confront Marilyn Thornhill (Christina Ricci), who they discover is responsible for setting Hyde on Nevermore Academy students.

Weems and Wednesday soon learned Thornhill was Laurel Gates, a descendant of Joseph Crackstone (William Houston), who founded Jericho Town, and fans’ jaws dropped when she injected the principal with a poisoned syringe.

While the audience may have assumed she’s dead, Gwendoline Christie has recently hinted that her character could be alive and well.

Gwendoline Christie Believes Weems Wouldn’t Entertain Death

During an interview with Digital Spy discussing Weems’s death, Gwendoline Christie admitted she believes Principal Weems could be alive and kicking, as the audience didn’t see her burial.

She commented, “I feel like Larissa Weems would not really be prepared to entertain or be dominated by anything as commonplace as death.”

Christie made her comment before season two was renewed, but it would make sense for her character.

Many Plot Points Are Unresolved

Various plot points haven’t been resolved following Weems’ death. For instance, the audience still doesn’t know why she cannot let go of the fact that Gomez (Luis Guzman) chose Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) instead of her.

Also, her efforts to encourage the Jericho community to accept Nevermore Academy outcasts will have gone to waste.

Weems May Appear in Season 2 Flashbacks

Flashbacks may suggest Principal Weems has a bigger role to play in Wednesday.

For instance, she appeared in a flashback in season one, episode five, when a young Gomez is placed under arrest for killing Garret Gates.

During the flashback, a younger Weems (Olivier Wickham) appears to have a grudge against Morticia, who is her roommate at Nevermore Academy, as she believes she stole Gomez away.

If Principal Weems is dead, she may return to the show in flashbacks in season two or beyond. For instance, it might show her efforts to encourage the town to accept outcasts from Nevermore.

Weems Could Be Immortal

It is unknown if shapeshifting is the only power Principal Weems possesses. The audience might have seen her transform into others, but she might have a form of immortality that could help her recover from the poisoning.

The poison injected by Thornhill may have impaired Weems, but it might not have been enough to kill her, which could mean her character would reappear in season two.

However, most outcasts tend to possess only one ability, so it is unlikely Weems is immortal, but it could happen.

A Shapeshifter Might Have Transformed into Principal Weems

It might not have been Principal Weems standing with Wednesday when confronting Marilyn Thornhill.

Weems dies before it is revealed that a shapeshifter has transformed into Tyler (Hunter Doohan), proving Weems isn’t the only shapeshifter at Nevermore and there could be more.

The person lying on the floor might not be Weems at all, and you never see her body or burial during the remainder of the episode.

Wednesday Might Save Weems

Another theory is that Wednesday may have used her psychic ability to save Weems.

The Nevermore Academy student may have communicated with Wednesday following her death, which she proved she could do in season one when communicating with Goody Addams, her ancestor.

Resurrecting Weems could happen, as it was revealed Thornhill had done so with Joseph Crackstone.

If Wednesday does bring Principal Weems back to life, it is unlikely to stop her decaying, and she may return as a different person.

If you believe Principal Weems will be alive in season two of Wednesday, you could win $500 by betting $100 at 1xBet if it happens.
