Which Famous Sports Stars Could Appear in the UK’s I’m a Celebrity…Get me Out of Here 2024?
I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here is a long-running award-winning reality TV show in the UK which is presented by the Geordie duo Ant and Dec. Despite the ongoing trend which has often seen linear television channels struggle to compete with streaming platforms, this thoroughly entertaining flagship show still maintains a core viewership. It is one of the most-watched spectacles of the year.
The show was first broadcast in 2002 and is one of the longest-running reality shows in the UK. It typically begins in November and culminates in mid-December with the eventual winner officially being crowned King or Queen of the Jungle. The first series was filmed in Queensland before moving to Dungay in New South Wales. COVID prevented the 2020 and 2021 series from being filmed outside of the UK before the show made its long-awaited return to the Southern Hemisphere in 2022.
How does it work?
The show features a group of celebrities, usually a mix of high-profile stars and a few lesser-spotted reality TV contestants, who are forced to live together in the extreme conditions of the Australian jungle. Creature comforts are removed from camp and each member will undertake a series of challenging tasks which enable them to earn food and luxuries for their campmates.
The British public will vote for celebrities to compete in these challenges whereas later in the series, they will also be able to choose who will leave the camp.
