Every year, Time, an American news magazine and website, publishes its annual Person of the Year issue.
Originally known as Man of the Year or Woman of the Year, the title was changed in 1999 for gender neutrality.
The iconic issue aims to feature a person, idea, group, or object that has “for better or worse… done the most to influence the events of the year.”
For this reason, many world leaders, military personnel, members of royalty, entrepreneurs, scientists, political activists, astronauts, and singers have received the title.

Who is Most Likely to Be Time’s Person of the Year 2024?
Many figures, whether you love or loathe them, are contenders for Time’s Person of the Year 2024, including Donald Trump, Prince William, Elon Musk, and even artificial intelligence (AI).
Yulia Navalnaya, Alexei Navalnaya’s widow, is a strong contender for the iconic title. In April 2024, Time listed her as one of the 100 Most Influential People of 2024.
Her husband, an anticorruption activist and political prisoner, mysteriously died in prison, sparking protests in his home country of Russia and internationally.
Rather than buckling to the nation’s reported blackmail, Yulia has promised to continue her late husband’s political work, encouraging Russians to join her, stating, “I will continue Alexei Navalny’s work. I want to live in a free Russia. I want to build a free Russia.”
Another possible contender for the title of Time’s Person of the Year is Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The American politician is the son of US Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy and the nephew of US President John F. Kennedy.
He is now an independent candidate in the 2024 presidential election and will likely go up against President Joe Biden and his predecessor, President Donald Trump.
With support against Biden plummeting due to his seemingly poor health, Kennedy is enjoying more popularity in the polls, which could alter the course of the election this November and may help him earn the title of Time’s Person of the Year.

Since 1927, the editors of Time take the time to thoroughly identify the individual who has, for better or worse, determined headlines over the previous 12-month period.
Readers are invited to cast votes for an individual or group they feel has had the most influence in the world over the past year; however, the poll will not form the final verdict.
