Which Famous Voices will Feature in Toy Story 5?

Despite Tom Hanks’ claim that Toy Story 4 would be the final instalment of the popular animated franchise, it was revealed in April 2024, that production has already begun on a fifth film with a release date of June 19th, 2026. Andrew Stanton will direct the film with Pixar CCO Pete Docter admitting that the film would be ‘surprising’.

Despite some critics suggesting that the fourth instalment was a step too far, Toy Story 4 managed to win Best Animated Film at the Oscars and proved to be extremely popular with movie lovers.

With Woody having bid farewell to his toy friends to spend more time with Bo Peep, it’ll be interesting to see how the scriptwriters approach this next phase.

With both Buzz Lightyear and Woody set to return in 2026, fans can now begin to get excited about the prospect of this forthcoming release.

Which Famous Voices have Appeared in the Previous Toy Story Movies?

Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are the two most voices in the Toy Story franchise and both have confirmed that they will return for the fifth chapter of this animated classic.

In total, there have been 987 different voices used across the first four films and there were a host of new voices that were introduced in Toy Story 4. Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key were hired to voice Bunny and Ducky whereas Keanu Reeves joined the cast to voice Duke Caboom, a fearless motorcycle daredevil.

Forky was arguably the most popular newcomer in the last film with this character being voiced by Tony Hale, although Christina Hendricks‘ Gabby Gabby was also deemed to be a welcome addition to the cast

Annie Potts is likely to return as Bo Peep whereas Joan Cusack should reprise her role as cowgirl Jessie.

Unfortunately, Don Rickles is no longer with us, so it remains to be seen whether Mr. Potato Head will feature in the fifth.

Who is likely to Feature in Toy Story 5?

Although there will undoubtedly be a flurry of new characters introduced to the ensemble, it will be interesting to see how many of the existing characters, particularly those who debuted in Toy Story 4, will make a return.

Rex, voiced by Wallace Shawn, is likely to be involved, whereas it’s difficult to imagine Bo Peep not featuring at some stage.

Some characters such as Stinky Pete, voiced by Kelsey Grammer, have appeared in just one of the four movies so far and could potentially make a cameo. Michael Keaton, who voiced Ken in Toy Story 3 and Jodi Benson, who voiced Barbie, may also reappear at some stage.

Other names who have been touted, include Selena Gomez, who has appeared in animated films such as Hotel Transylvania 2. Samuel L Jackon has also been linked, whereas Taylor Swift, Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper appear further down in the betting odds.

If you believe that Selena Gomez will voice a character in Toy Story 5, you could win €1000 by betting €100 at 22Bet if it happens.
