A spinoff of the American TV series, The Office, was announced in 2023. The untitled show isn’t a reboot of the much-loved TV series, which aired from 2005 to 2013, but is a new mockumentary with a fresh cast set in the Dunder Mifflin universe.

Greg Daniels will return as creator and showrunner alongside Michael Koman. Both will serve as executive producers alongside Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, the brains behind the original UK sitcom, which aired from 2001 to 2003.

As excited as fans are at the news that The Office will return with a new batch of characters, many hope some familiar faces will make an appearance.

Who Could Guest Star in The Office Spinoff?

Any former cast members could make a guest appearance in The Office spinoff. There isn’t an official release date for the new mockumentary yet, but it was announced filming was scheduled for July 2024.

The show’s leading stars are likely most people’s favorites to appear; however, many are seemingly attached to various projects or press tours during the time of filming.

For instance, Steve Carell, who played the iconic role of Dunder Mifflin manager Michael Scott, is currently promoting the release of Despicable Me 4.

Plus, he’s attached to numerous TV shows and movies that are in pre-production, including an untitled Steve Carell HBO series. For this reason, he might not have the time to make a guest appearance in the spinoff.

Also, John Krasinski, who played the loveable Jim Halpert, is busy promoting his two movies, which he wrote and directed, If and A Quiet Place: Day One. What’s more, he is producing The King of Oil and is set to star in Guy Richie’s Fountain of Youth, which might not leave much room in his diary to make a guest appearance.

Jenna Fischer, who played cute receptionist Pam Beesly, might love to appear in season one of The Office spinoff. The talented actress is currently making The Office Ladies podcast with her best friend and fellow Office cast member Angela Kinsey, who played Angela.

Rainn Wilson, who famously played Dwight Schrute, could be open to a guest appearance, but he has various upcoming projects that could dominate his schedule.

Many supporting cast members or minor characters could appear, such as Creed Bratton, who played Creed, as he recently wrapped a new movie, Strangers of My Imagination, and seemingly has no other projects in the pipeline.

Of course, everyone’s favorite accountant, Kevin, played by Brian Baumgartner, could pop up as he started working in a local bar in The Office finale, which could appear in the spinoff.

If you believe Jenna Fischer will make an in-person appearance on The Office spinoff, you could win $433 by betting $100 at Sportsbet if it happens.
