What Movie Will Win Best Picture at the 97th Academy Awards?
Movie fans across the world will be excited for the upcoming film award season, which typically takes place between November and February.
Of course, no event is more prestigious than the Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, which recognizes cinematic excellence annually.
The crown jewel of the award show is, of course, Best Picture, which celebrates the achievements of a film’s overall production.
The sought-after award is given to the finest movie of the year, which will sit next to some of the best flicks in history to receive the gold statue, such as The Departed (2007), Braveheart (1996), Schindler’s List (1994), and The Godfather: Part II (1975).
The caliber of this year’s movies has been exceptional, but many flicks have stood out from the crowd, which could potentially win Best Picture at the 97th Academy Awards.

What Movies Are Likely to Win the Best Picture Oscar?
Many movies are in contention for the Best Picture statue at the 2025 Oscars, and the nominations have yet to be announced.
The first half of 2024 saw the release of many excellent movies that are likely to maintain their buzz into Oscar season.
For instance, Dune: Part Two appears to be a strong contender for the prestigious statue, as it offers jaw-dropping cinematography, outstanding acting, epic music, clever direction, and superb sound and editing.
Many believe that if the flick didn’t experience many delays, it could have potentially outshined last year’s Best Picture winner, Oppenheimer (2023), at the 96th Academy Awards.
The movie was scheduled to hit theaters in November 2023, but its release date was pushed back due to labor disputes in Hollywood.
Dune: Part Two might be the favorite in the media to win, but the Academy may select Joker: Folie A Deux to win the coveted statue.
Much buzz has already started to circulate about the movie, with the first film receiving a nomination for Best Picture in 2020 and earning Joaquin Phoenix the Best Actor award.
According to reports, Lady Gaga, who stars in the movie as Harley Quinn, will “blow your mind.” Also, the actress/singer and Phoenix reportedly have an electric chemistry that could help earn the film a Best Picture nomination and win.
Of course, many underdogs have lifted the Best Picture trophy at the Oscars in the past, such as Crash (2004), Moonlight (2016), and Parasite (2019).
So, it wouldn’t be surprising if Blitz, The Apprentice, Gladiator 2, or A Real Pain receives Best Picture next February.
